Broadcasting Television on the Internet Was His Dream !

In 1995, Richard Huin ran a small streaming radio station from the computer in his bedroom, using free MP3 broadcasting software and advertising on IRC networks. At the time, he managed to build an audience of 50 simultaneous listeners. From music to Canal+ zapping-style content, the success of his broadcasts grew, leading him to move to a professional broadcasting system.

In 1999, he naturally set out to create a legal music download and listening platform. However, he was quickly discouraged by industry professionals, who threatened legal action when he presented the project to them. In 2000 and 2001, he was hired as a programmer by a startup combining an online magazine and a shopping platform, where he was tasked with orchestrating the company website's first TV show.

His ambition grew, and online content distribution became an increasingly powerful driving force. A few years later, in 2003, a market opportunity allowed this young enthusiast to move into what would later become the precursor to French VOD: the release of video file protection technology, Microsoft DRM. It was the perfect opportunity for him to create Imineo, one of the first VOD platforms in France.
